ABSTRACT

Objective@#To understand the management of tuberculosis outbreaks in middle schools in Bijie City, and to put forward suggestions to improve the quality of tuberculosis epidemic situation in schools.@*Methods@#A unified questionnaire was used to investigate the management of tuberculosis outbreaks in middle schools reported by tuberculosis information management system from August 27, 2018 to January 6, 2019 in Bijie City.@*Results@#The screening rate of close contacts was 69.72%(99/142), which significantly varied by counties(P<0.01). The time from the date of diagnosis of patients to screening of close contacts by local CDC was 3(1-10.5) days. Rate of standardized management process for close contacts aged 15 years or older (0) was lower than that for close contacts aged younger than 15 years old (23.08%)(P<0.01). 3 462 close contacts were screened for TB symptom,and chest X-ray among those suspected individuals(process 1), and 2 439 close contacts were screened with TB symptom,PPD test,and chest X-ray among those suspected individuals or those with strong positive in PPD test(process 2). The detection rate of pulmonary tuberculosis in close contacts of Grade I was lower in Process 1 (28.89/100 000) than in Process 2 (328.00/100 000)(χ2=6.56, P=0.01). The latent infection rate of the first-class close contacts (6.39%) was higher than that of the second-class close contacts(1.93%)(χ2=54.86, P<0.01).@*Conclusion@#Management of tuberculosis outbreaks in middle schools in Bijie City in 2018 is effective and timely, but the standardization needs to be improved.

ABSTRACT

Objectives: To plot and analyze ECG three-dimensional (3D) RR scatter plots in patients with various diseases in order to find the correlation between the graphic features and various diseases. Methods: According to ECG data provided by Physio Bank website, 3D RR scatter plots were constructed and analyzed by means of Matlab platform programming and clustering algorithm in following clinical settings: normal sinus rhythm,?arrhythmia, atrial fibrillation (AF), sudden cardiac death and chronic heart failure (CHF). Results: 3D RR scatter plots of normal sinus rhythm, arrhythmia, AF, sudden cardiac death and CHF were converged into several categories, all had the features of ultimate, stability and attraction. Significant differences on the number of clusters, clustering degrees and distribution ranges were observed among subjects with normal sinus rhythm, arrhythmia, AF, sudden cardiac death and CHF. Conclusions: 3D RR scatter plots had diversified distributions in different diseases, it can be divided into multiple categories with multi-distribution features. 3D RR scatter plots can clearly define the overlapping parts of 2D scatter diagram and are helpful to distinguish different diseases in a more accurate mode, future studies are warranted to explore the underlying clinical implications of the multiple parameters derived from the 3D RR scatter plots.

ABSTRACT

Objective To study the inhibitory effects of Chinese yam combined with tegafu on colon cancer HT-29 cells in vivo and in vitro.Methods The changes of cell morphology were observed by the method of adopting 2×2 factorial designs,after HT-29 colon cancer cells were treated with physiological saline containing dimethyl sulfoxide(blank control), tegafur(36 mg/L)and Chinese yam(125 mg/L).MTT method was used to detect the proliferation of tumor cells,and flow cytometry was used to detect the expression of tumor stem cells(CD133+cells).The nude mouse model of colon cancer HT-29 cells was established. The treatment was given in the above method, and the tumor inhibition rate was calculated. The VEGF positive rate of the tumor was detected by immunohistochemistry. Results The inhibited proliferation of colon cancer HT-29 cells was significantly higher in the synergistic group than that in Chinese yam group and tegafur group,and the inhibitory rates were higher in the three treatment groups than that of blank control group.The proportion of CD133+cells was significantly lower in HT-29 cells in the synergistic group compared with that of the Chinese yam group and the tegafur group,and which was lower in these three groups than that of the blank control group.After the treatment in three treatment groups,the tumor quality and VEGF positive rate were significantly lower than those of the blank control group,and which was lower in the tegafur+Chinese yam group than that of Chinese yam group and the tegafur group. Conclusion Chinese yam combined with tegafu can inhibit the proliferation of colon cancer HT-29 cells and their stem cells.

ABSTRACT

? AlM: To compare the two methods for the measurement of glaucoma patients' intraocular pressure ( lOP) between Goldmann applanation tonometer ( GAT) and non-contact tonometer ( NCT) and find the laws of the two methods.?METHODS: The lOP of 108 glaucoma patients ( 206 eyes) were measured by GAT and NCT respectively.?RESULTS: ln 108 glaucoma patients, the average lOP of 206 eyes was 29. 77 ± 10. 27mmHg by GAT and 24. 59 ± 8. 58mmHg by NCT. There was significant difference between GAT and NCT (P<0. 01). The higher of lOP, the difference between GAT and NCT was greater.?CONCLUSlON: The measurement results with NCT were lower than that of GAT. The higher of lOP, the difference between GAT and NCT was greater. lt's better to measure lOP by GAT for the glaucoma patients, in order to avoid the misdiagnosis and mistreatment of glaucoma.

ABSTRACT

AlM:To evaluate the clinic efficacy of protein-free calf blood extract ophthalmic gel on healing children dry eye.METHODS: One hundred patients ( 50 patients each group) with children dry eye were divided into two groups randomly: control group was dropped 1g/L sodium hyaluronate eye drop four times per day and experimental group was dropped protein-free calf blood extract ophthalmic gel four times per day. Both groups received the depathogeny treatment at the same time. Symptom scores, Schirmer l test values, tear break-up time ( BUT ) , cornea fluorescein staining scores were recorded on the prior treatment and 30d post-treatment, then they were analyzed. RESULTS:There were statistically significant difference (P CONCLUSlON: There is a clearly beneficial effect of protein-free calf blood extract ophthalmic gel on healing children dry eye.
